Storage Auctions F.A.Q.

Q: How do I get access to bid on the online auctions?

A: You must first register on our site by clicking the Register link on the top right corner of our website. After you’ve registered you’ll need to fill out a form with a valid credit card to gain access to the auctions.

Q: How do I know how much to bid?

A: Our auction system is based on bidding by proxy method. That means that you can bid once with the maximum amount of money you are willing to pay for an auction. Your maximum amount won’t be displayed on the screen, instead the auction will just increase either by $10 or by the difference of your maximum amount and the former highest bidder’s maximum amount. If you bid and you are given a red message notifying you that you have been outbid that means that someone else’s highest amount is more than what you are bidding. Our auction system will protect the winning bidder’s maximum amount until another bidder tops it.

Q: How do I know if I am the current highest bidder?

A: Once you bid you will get a green message notifying you that you are the current highest bidder. If someone else comes and tops your bid you will be notified through e-mail. Sometimes e-mails end up in the Junk folder, to make sure you get our e-mails please modify your filter settings.

Q: What happens if I win?

A: If you win an auction a contact with Storwell management should be established within 24 hours to coordinate payment and access to the auctioned unit. If we fail to reach you within 24 hours the winning bid will be given to the second highest bidder.

Q: How do I gain access to the storage unit I just won?

A: The unit you won will be located in one of our 3 facilities in the GTA: Etobicoke, Mississauga and Scarborough. The location and address is provided on the unit’s page and in the newsletter that we send out. Once you arrive at the unit a payment must be made plus a $200 deposit, which will be returned to you once the unit has been emptied and cleaned. You will have 7 days to emtpy the unit. Should you have any questions feel free to contact us at auctions@storwell.com.
