Storwell Foster Children Bursary Winner

Storwell Self Storage is proud to announce that Carina Chan is the winner of the Storwell Scholarship for 2011. Carina is Studying at The University of Toronto in the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Social Work working towards a combined degree of Juris Doctor and Master of Social Work.

The selection process to decide a winner of the scholarship was an onerous task as so many of the applicants were extremely deserving and showed through their volunteer and work experience to be worthy of consideration, so much so that we expanded the awards to include five consolation prizes to try in our small way to address the need and the challenge of helping foster children get the support they need to realize their educational goals.

Carina is a fine example of type of effort that we have seen in the applications. She has done extensive volunteer work at, Peace by Peace Toronto, Justice for Children and Youth, YWCA, Undergraduate Student Union at U of T, Canadian Centre for Diversity, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Pelletier Homes for Youth and Kids Help Phone.
