On Saturday, August 13, Storwell’s team gathered in Victoria Harbour to take a little trip across the Georgian Bay. The final destination was Giants Tomb Island. Despite its somewhat ominous name it’s a small, almost uninhabited, island covered in trees and quaint beaches. It’s popular among boaters for its shallow and safe waters for swimming.

Fortunately, most of the staff (from our Toronto, Scarborough and Mississauga offices) made it and we departed the Victoria Harbour Marina on two vessels. The weather wasn’t promising any sunshine as dark clouds crept in the horizon but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our hour long ride across the great Georgian Bay.

Our landing destination was the Giants Tomb Island, part of the Awenda Provincial Park. It was surprising how shallow the water was as some of us were able to walk back and forth from the boat to the beach. Surrounded by nature, we engaged in a relaxed out of office environment in which we could relax and enjoy the great Ontario summer!

Immersed in chatter, sun tanning, great food and water activities the day passed really fast. As we headed back home, suddenly, we were surrounded, on both sides, by rain and lightning. It was both scary and beautiful! As it began to pour we reached the marina and hugged and rushed back home to dry up.

Overall, it was another great summer adventure with Storwell. Our offices in Etobicoke and Mississauga were closed for the day and we apologize for any inconveniences our customers might have had.
